Compare products
The Compare products section places up to four products side by side so shoppers can weigh them on the specs that matter. Each row is pulled straight from the products’ custom.* metafields (see Automotive features and the Metafields reference).
Add it with Add section → Compare products (under the Products category). It is limited to one instance per template and holds up to four blocks named Product column (max 4; there is no enforced minimum) — each Product column block contains a single setting, labeled Product, which is the product picker for that column. The table always shows at least two columns, auto-filling any missing ones with placeholder columns.
| Setting | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Heading | the section’s settings | The section title (default: “Compare side by side”). |
| Color scheme | the section’s settings → Layout | The section’s color scheme. |
| Top padding / Bottom padding | the section’s settings → Section padding | Vertical spacing, 0–120px. |
| Product | each Product column block | The product shown in that column. |
Each product column shows the product image (with its install-difficulty badge overlaid when set), title, price, and a View product button. Below the header, the table compares these rows, each pulled straight from the product’s custom.* metafields:
- Part number —
custom.part_number - Weight —
custom.weight_kg(with ” kg” appended automatically) - Dimensions —
custom.dimensions - Material —
custom.material - Warranty —
custom.warranty
If a product is missing a value for any row, that cell shows a dash (—), so the table always stays aligned. Leave a Product column block empty and it renders a placeholder column. The table scrolls horizontally on narrow screens.
