The email field is required and validates the address before submitting. Subscribers are tagged newsletter.

The Newsletter section submits to Shopify’s built-in customer form. When a visitor subscribes:

  • They are added to your store’s customer list in Shopify admin (Customers), tagged with newsletter so you can segment and target them.
  • On success the form shows your store’s confirmation message (for example, Thanks for subscribing!); on error it shows the field error inline.

Because this is the native Shopify customer form, signups flow into Shopify Email and any email/marketing app connected to your customer list. There is nothing extra to connect inside the theme.
