Scrolling promotion

A band of picture tiles that drifts sideways on its own. Each Promotion block is one tile, holding a photograph, a short label, and a link.

What it does: Carries the week’s small announcements in one band. A restock, a new cloth, a made-to-order window. None of them deserves a section to itself.

Key settings (in the section’s settings):

The section also carries a Section spacing group. Pick a Device of Desktop or Mobile, then set Top and Bottom.

Note

The band stops when anybody engages with it. That means a pointer over it, a tile reaching keyboard focus, or a visitor whose device asks for reduced motion. Nobody has to chase a moving target to click one.

Tip

Keep the labels to three or four words. They are read while the band is moving, and a full sentence goes past before it can be finished.

When to use it: Use it once, mid-page, as the store’s noticeboard. When the tiles are collections rather than announcements, use Collection carousel. When there are no pictures and it is only words, use Scrolling text.
