Currency format
Found under Theme settings → Currency format.
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Show currency codes | Appends the currency code to every price on the storefront, so $1.00 becomes $1.00 USD. | Off |
| Show currency code on cart total | Appends the code to the cart and drawer totals only, leaving the rest of the store’s prices as they are. | Off |
Every price Lapels renders passes through one formatter, so these are real switches rather than a per-section choice. Turn the first one on and product cards, product pages, cart lines, and prices redrawn when a shopper picks a variant all change together.
The second setting exists for the common middle ground. It names the currency exactly where the order is committed, without labeling all 60 prices in a collection grid. It stacks with the first rather than overriding it. With Show currency codes already on, the cart total carries the code either way.
Checkout always shows the currency code alongside the total, whatever you choose here. That part is Shopify’s, not the theme’s.
The format of the code itself comes from your store’s currency formatting under Settings → Store details in the admin, not from the theme. That covers where it sits and how the amount is punctuated.
