Brand

Found under Theme settings → Brand. This group holds your brand as it appears across the storefront: the name, the line under it, the two logo files, the browser-tab icon, and the picture used when someone shares a page.

Every field here is optional. Leave one blank and Lapels falls back to your Shopify brand assets, and then to your store name, so the storefront is never unbranded. You can review those assets in the Shopify admin under Settings → Brand, and your store name under Settings → General.

SettingWhat it doesDefault
WordmarkThe name set in type, shown in the header, the footer, chapter breaks, the gift card page, and the password page. Blank falls back to your store name.None
TaglineA short line shown under the wordmark in the footer. It is also used as the sharing description on a page that has none of its own. Blank falls back to your Shopify brand slogan.None

The header, the footer wordmark block, and the chapter break section each have their own Wordmark field. Leave those blank and they inherit the one you set here, so you change the name in one place.

SettingWhat it doesDefault
LogoUsed wherever the surrounding color scheme is light. Blank falls back to your Shopify brand logo.None
Inverse logoUsed wherever the surrounding color scheme is dark. That means the header, the footer’s logo block, the password page, the gift card, and the header sitting over your home page hero. Upload a light-colored file.None
Gift card logo heightHow tall the logo is drawn on the gift card, 12 to 100px. Height rather than width, so logo files of any shape line up the same way.20px

Lapels deliberately does not fall back from the light-ground logo onto a dark ground. A dark-ink logo on an espresso header is close to invisible. So without an inverse file, those places show your wordmark instead, set in a color every scheme is checked against. If you upload only one file, upload Logo and let the dark grounds carry the wordmark.

The footer’s Logo block can also carry its own file, which overrides both of these in the footer only.

SettingWhat it doesDefault
FaviconThe small icon shown in the browser tab. A square .png of at least 96 × 96px keeps it crisp. 32 × 32px is the recommended design size. Blank falls back to your Shopify square brand logo.None
Sharing imageStands in when a page has no image of its own, such as the home page, search, or the cart. 1200 × 628px is recommended. Blank falls back to your Shopify brand cover image.None

A product, article, or collection page always prefers its own picture. That is the featured product image, the article image, or the collection image. It only reaches for the sharing image when it has none.

Lapels never scales a share image up. It declares the real dimensions of the file it serves, so upload at least 1200px wide if you want the full-size card on social platforms.
